Round Cakes
Round cakes work differently, and the following can be used a serving guide for this style of birthday
cake. These servings do not apply to wedding cakes.

Square Cakes
Square cakes are different from both rectangular and round cakes, and if you’re planning on producing
one in this shape here is a guide to how many servings each size will yield. These servings do not apply to
wedding cakes.

If you’re offering multiple desserts, and would like your cake to yield more slices than suggested above,
you can cut what’s known as “event slices” – smaller pieces that are created by cutting a circle in the
center of the cake, essentially leaving you with two cakes to cut from. Slice pieces from the outer ring
first, and then cut the center circle just as you would a traditional cake.
